Ready for a season that doesn’t dodge hard questions? We’re back with a fresh slate of stories and a clear mission: trace how adoption got here, what’s changing now, and how real families live with those shifts day by day. From Chicago’s ICE(y) streets to a new name that reflects a deeper sense of self, we step into season three with humor, honesty, and a plan to make complex policy feel human.

We set the stage with life updates and the realities that keep us grounded: time passing faster than edits, ICE that has yet to melt, and the small details that shape identity. Then we dive into the big arcs ahead. International adoption has slowed, and we unpack the why—ethics, records, and a global push for family preservation. The Korean Truth and Reconciliation Committee 3 is front and center as we explore what accountability looks like, how lost or altered records can be repaired, and what justice can mean for adoptees and first families. Expect clear explanations, careful context, and stories that connect systems to lived experience.

Our own paths highlight the range within adoption: one of us adopted domestically within a white family, the other crossing an ocean from an Asian family to a white family. Those differences shape language, belonging, and access to origin stories. We compare notes on paperwork, cultural threads, and the search for roots. Parenthood brings new perspective too—fatherhood with a 19‑month‑old meets long-running conversations about motherhood, widening the lens to include daily care, identity, and the quiet work of love. And yes, a name change to Bina marks identity as something alive, chosen, and evolving.

If you care about adoption ethics, Korean adoptee history, domestic vs international contrasts, or simply love thoughtful storytelling with heart, this season is for you. Hit follow, share with a friend who needs this, and leave a review with the one question you want us to tackle first.

Season Three Return

SPEAKER_02

Hey Billy.

SPEAKER_00

Hey Meg.

SPEAKER_02

So we are back for the Adopt Twin season three, huh?

SPEAKER_00

We've done it. We they said it couldn't be done.

SPEAKER_02

But we figured it out. I'm so glad. I can't even remember how many years ago we started this, but I know it's been over a year since we've last recorded.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's yes, a year, a million years, depending on how much information you consume per hour. But it has been a while.

Time Gaps And Life Updates

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And we're in season three. I think actually we started recording in 2022. And I don't know how long it's going to take me to edit all of this because, you know, single parenthood and all of that stuff, there's not a lot of time. So by the time this season actually drops, I don't know, we might be looking like a Netflix show with like four seasons in 10 years.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, if we can get to the level of Stranger Things, I think we're doing pretty good for ourselves at that point.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. And at least we are not preteens, and this is audio only, so you won't see the really weird how we're still supposed to be the same age, yet we've gained 10 years on our lives.

SPEAKER_00

It's very true. You can just look at our socials for that one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Actually, that probably wouldn't hit me as well much as it would hit you, huh?

SPEAKER_00

Okay. All right. Listen, I have been bald for quite some time. So that has bought me at least 15 to 20 years of looking exactly the same, depending on how much deep dish pizza I consume per day.

Chicago Scenes And Winter Jokes

SPEAKER_01

Right. I mean, Chicago. Yeah. We're going to talk about Chicago this season.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, yeah. There's been some stuff going on here. It's been super cool. Very pretty. Very, very chilly, sort of like ice. Oh my gosh, it's everywhere. Winter is all around. They said that snow would not stick around on the cars, on the pavement, on the streets. Nevertheless, it has persisted.

Adoption Themes For The Season

SPEAKER_02

Yep. Love that. And then we're gonna, you know, obviously it's the Adopt Twins, so there's gonna be some adoption stuff going on, like the Truth and Reconciliation Committee three got passed for Korea. So that's a thing. So we'll try to help people understand what exactly that is. And then, you know, there's also this whole thing where our adoptions are different because you were domestic, white family to excuse me. Because our adoptions are.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, let's not throw shade at the white family by coughing on them. It is a different time in America, Meg. I know now's not the time to make enemies with the whites.

SPEAKER_02

You're right about that. But from a white birth family to a white adoptive family, whereas I had to cross the ocean and go from an Asian family to a white family. But apparently a lot of that is stopping. So we'll cover that in this season as well.

Fatherhood And Motherhood Perspectives

SPEAKER_00

God. Great. Well, I mean, it would be great too to understand how we got here as well. I feel like if we can kind of get all of the information boiled down on the history of adoption, that's going to be a really cool conversation and probably a lot of things to learn from there.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely. And then finally, last time we talked, you were expecting a child. So I'm assuming that she's probably like 15 now.

SPEAKER_00

She is 19 months. Oh she she has. I mean, if we started talking now about it, I wouldn't be able to shut up. So let's just say I can't wait to talk about fatherhood.

SPEAKER_02

And I cannot wait to hear it because there's been a lot of talk about motherhood on my end. So I'd like to have a little bit of a different conversation going on.

SPEAKER_00

It's gonna be a different perspective, I'm sure, but wholly unique and similarly filled with love.

SPEAKER_02

Excellent. I look forward to season three with you, Billy.

SPEAKER_00

As do I, Meg. We're gonna have a great time.

Name Change To Bina And Sign Off

SPEAKER_02

Aha! That's another thing. Meg. So I'm currently in the process of changing my name.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so new names.

SPEAKER_02

It's gonna be Bina.

SPEAKER_00

Beena. Great. So from now on, hi Beana.

SPEAKER_02

Hi. You know, if you throw in a Meg here and there. It's okay. Lots of people do it, and that's fine. But we will see you all real soon on season three of the Adopt Wins. And by real soon I mean like, you know, in the next couple of years.

SPEAKER_00

So stay tuned.
